What is Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)?

A Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is an intensive, structured day treatment program that provides a higher level of care than traditional outpatient services.

MBO’s Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is centered around group therapy and is designed to help individuals struggling with mental health conditions by offering a supportive, immersive treatment experience while allowing them to return home each evening.

How MBO's Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) Helps with Mental Health Conditions

Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is effective in treating a wide range of mental health conditions, providing individuals with the support and tools they need to achieve sustainable healing and improved well-being.

Depression

Characterized by persistent feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and loss of interest in activities, depression can significantly impact daily functioning.

Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) offers evidence-based therapies, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), to help individuals identify and change negative thought patterns, develop coping strategies, and improve their overall mood.

Anxiety Disorders

Characterized by persistent feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and loss of interest in activities, depression can significantly impact daily functioning.

Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) offers evidence-based therapies, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), to help individuals identify and change negative thought patterns, develop coping strategies, and improve their overall mood.

Bipolar Disorder

Bipolar disorder is characterized by extreme mood swings, alternating between episodes of mania or hypomania and depression.

This includes:

Mania:

Mania is a period of abnormally elevated mood, energy, and activity levels that lasts at least one week and causes significant impairment in functioning. Symptoms of mania may include feeling euphoric or irritable, having racing thoughts, decreased need for sleep, increased talkativeness, impulsive behavior, and engaging in risky activities.

Hypomania:

Hypomania is a milder form of mania that lasts at least four days but does not cause severe impairment. During hypomania, individuals may feel energized, productive, and creative, but the changes in mood and behavior are noticeable to others.

Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) provides a structured environment where individuals can stabilize their mood, develop self-awareness, and learn strategies to prevent relapse. Treatment may include mood stabilizing medications, psychotherapy, and education about managing triggers and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Trauma and PTSD

Trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can result from experiencing or witnessing a distressing event, leading to intrusive thoughts, avoidance behaviors, and heightened arousal.

Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) may incorporate trauma-focused therapies, such as trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to help individuals process their traumatic experiences and develop healthy coping mechanisms.

Borderline Personality Disorder

Borderline personality disorder (BPD) is characterized by a pattern of instability in interpersonal relationships, self-image, and emotions, often leading to impulsive behaviors and fear of abandonment.

Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) may utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), a specialized treatment for BPD, to teach individuals skills in emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness.

Frequently Asked Questions

At Mind Body Optimization, we offer a unique approach to mental health care by treating the whole person under one roof.

Our comprehensive services combine therapeutic, psychiatric, and medical testing, allowing us to address the mental, emotional, and physical needs of our clients in a cohesive manner. This integrated approach sets us apart in the highly competitive mental health market.

A key aspect of our integrative treatment program is the incorporation of comprehensive lab testing.

We understand that mental health is deeply connected to physical well-being, and that imbalances in hormones, nutrients, or other biomarkers can significantly impact mood, energy, and overall functioning.

By including lab work as a standard part of our assessment process, we gain valuable insights into each client’s unique biochemistry. This data allows us to craft highly personalized treatment plans that target not just the symptoms, but the underlying biological factors that may be contributing to mental health challenges.

If you or a loved one is struggling with a mental health condition and require more intensive support than traditional outpatient services, our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) may be the ideal choice.

Our experienced team will conduct a thorough assessment to determine the most appropriate level of care based on individual needs and treatment goals. We are committed to ensuring that each client receives the care and support they need to achieve sustainable healing.

Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) offers a structured daily program designed to provide comprehensive support and promote healing.

Upon admission, each client undergoes a thorough nursing assessment and history and physical examination to gather important health information and establish a baseline for treatment. Clients then participate in collaborative treatment planning with their dedicated therapist and psychiatrist.

This process allows the client to take an active role in setting goals and mapping out their individualized path to wellness.

Throughout the day, clients engage in a variety of evidence-based therapies where they work with their therapist to process emotions, develop coping strategies, and address the root causes of their mental health challenges.

Group therapy is a key component of the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) experience, offering clients the opportunity to connect with peers, share experiences, and practice new skills in a supportive environment. Our groups cover a range of topics, from DBT skills training to art therapy and mindfulness practices.

In addition to therapy, clients receive ongoing support and guidance from our compassionate nursing staff, who monitor vital signs, administer medications as needed, and provide a listening ear and encouraging presence throughout the day.

Throughout the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) journey, our team works collaboratively to empower clients, validate their experiences, and instill hope for lasting recovery.

By combining intensive therapy with a nurturing environment and a whole-person approach to care, we aim to help each client build a strong foundation for mental wellness and a fulfilling life beyond treatment.

We understand that mental health conditions often co-occur, and our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is designed to effectively treat a wide range of co-occurring disorders.

Our experienced clinicians utilize evidence-based modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to address the unique needs of each individual.

By providing comprehensive care, we help clients develop the skills and self-awareness necessary to manage their mental health and achieve lasting well-being.

Our partial hospitalization program (PHP) typically lasts 3-6 weeks, providing intensive, structured treatment to help clients stabilize and build a strong foundation for ongoing recovery.

After completing Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), many clients step down to our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) (IOP) for an additional 4-6 weeks of support as they transition back into their daily lives.

The length of stay in each level of care is tailored to the individual needs of each client. Our clinical team closely monitors progress and collaborates with clients to determine the appropriate duration of treatment based on factors such as symptom severity, support system, and response to interventions.

Throughout the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) journey, our team works collaboratively to empower clients, validate their experiences, and instill hope for lasting recovery.

By combining evidence-based therapies with a compassionate, whole-person approach, we aim to help each client develop the skills and resilience needed to maintain mental wellness long after they leave our program.
