Kelly Olsen, LMSW

Therapist - Franklin

Kelly partners with individuals and couples dealing with depression, relationship problems, ADHD, anxiety, bipolar disorder, chronic illness/pain, OCD, life transitions, parenting, substance use, stress, trauma, and more. She prioritizes her clients’ voices, bases her approach on client needs and preferences, and understands that each person is unique. She often utilizes interpersonal, strengths-based, compassion-focused, behavioral activation, cognitive behavioral, mindfulness, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapies. For clients with OCD and anxiety, she utilizes Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). For couples, she provides Gottman relationship counseling and has completed Gottman Method levels 1 & 2. Although individual experiences vary, Kelly finds that most clients experience significant improvement by 12-20 weeks of weekly therapy. Kelly holds a master’s in clinical social work from The Boston College School of Social Work and spent the first part of her career in public policy research and consulting. In 2007, she took an outpatient therapist position at a community mental health center and found being a therapist to be the hardest, yet most rewarding, work she’s ever done. She is grateful every day to the clients who entrust her with their care and to her past therapists who encouraged her to find her calling. She lives outside Nashville with her husband of over 20 years and enjoys hiking, swimming, games, comedy shows, and spending time with her family. She has two adult children and three rescue dogs.
