We have a great interview with our Product Training Specialist, Chau Nguyen, in this edition of Who We Are! Read on to learn about her admiration of Barbara Walters, her violin skills, and how she helps our teams become the most knowledgable around.

Chau Nguyen, Product Training Specialist

What team are you on and what is your role at DealerOn?
I work in the Training and Development Team as our Product Training Specialist.

How does your team & role contribute to the success of DealerOn?
Our team help develop training for the organization. As a team, our goal is to empower members with the knowledge and skillsets– especially our new hires, so they can feel good when starting work within their respective departments. We work closely with other departments to help create more effective learning resources.

As a Product Training Specialist, my main objectives are building out certifications, developing guides to enhance feature usage, and a hyper-focus on creating and updating our product training. This allows our team to have a better understanding of the products/tools and create more engaging conversations with our clients.

What do you feel separates DealerOn from other players in the space?
What separates DealerOn from other players in the space is our company culture, our approach to enhancing our products, and our team. We work in a very collaborative environment to make sure our products are of the highest quality. As for the culture at DealerOn, I think it is awesome. There is a great mix of individuals and policies in place for our employees. I appreciate that DealerOn is open to feedback and making positive changes.

What do you enjoy most about working at DealerOn?
What I enjoy a lot at DealerOn is meeting new people, and working alongside some pretty unique individuals. People at DealerOn aren’t identified by their 9-5. They are so much more and it is really neat to get to know them at a different level.

If you could go back to your first day at DealerOn and tell yourself anything, what would it be?
It would certainly be don’t be afraid to fail forward, and don’t take everything too seriously. Something might come across as fire, but in actuality, it might not be.

What is a fun fact about you that people don’t know?
My favorite genre to play on my violin are bluegrass, jazz, and Irish jig!

What motivates you?
My future self and my family. I want my future self to look back and say “yes, I am proud of what I have accomplished”.

What are you passionate about?
One thing I am passionate about is education and reading up on education policies. I hope that one day I can volunteer at an organization that supports learning opportunities for underprivileged communities and rural areas.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I enjoy spending time with my family, exploring local shops, playing tennis, and watching home renovation DIY. Half of all my recommended Youtube videos are DIY for home.

If you could have a conversation with anyone from the past, who would it be and what would you discuss?
This is a little cheesy. But I’d love to have some tea with Queen Elizabeth II to discuss her legacy, the ongoing status of the royal family, and her succession decision, if she could have chosen.

Who do you find inspiration from today?
Barbara Walters has been a great inspiration because she didn’t shy away from difficult conversations; she was an esteemed journalist, and broke many ceilings for future women journalists.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
My superpower would be to make things into a reality based on my imagination.
